My Country Morning Show w/Dan Warren (Weekday's 6a-Noon)

Where it all started: I was born and raised in Dunkirk NY. That's where I started working in radio in high school.

To be honest, I actually had a radio station in my attic at home, but it consisted of a record player, an old reel to reel tape machine and a plastic microphone I found in our basement. So I guess that doesn't count. I worked at WDOE in Dunkirk, and WBUZ in Fredonia (before the FCC yanked their license). I am a SUNY Alfred grad, and a SUNY Fredonia grad. I was also fortunate enough to work at WPHD-FM in Buffalo. I worked in beautiful Punta Gorda, Florida for a year before returning back home to work in Jamestown. I've done just about every shift in this town, broadcast PBP sports, and hosted a news/talk show. Now that I think about it, I've done the morning show on SE-93, WKSN, WHUG, and 103.1 The Fox. Wow! This guy just can't hold a job!

Where I am now: I love waking everyone up with the "My County Morning Show" on WHUG.

My other job: I have my own business, Dan Warren's Entertainment Express. I provide music for parties, weddings, school dances and such. I also have a complete karaoke set-up which I take out quite frequently. Maybe I'll see you out and about some time, or if you're in need of a disc jockey for an event, give me a holler!

Why I'm still in this area: People ask this a lot. It comes down to this...for all that's wrong with this area, it's still a great place to raise a family! The quality of life is great, the people are wonderful, and I've been treated well in the many years I've been here. If I have to work a bunch of jobs to support my family (and my nasty eating habit!) so be it. To me it's worth it.

Thanks!
Talk to You on the Radio....

Middays w/Matt Warren (Weekday's Noon-3pm)

When I was a little kid, I remember sitting in my basement with a play radio set hosting my own shows and playing music from an actual radio. Many years have passed, and look where I have ended up! I am thrilled to be the host of "Middays with Matt Warren" on My Country, 101.9, and I love talking with listeners and playing the best country music there is! You may also have heard my voice on our sister station, AM 1240, WJTN on weekends, occasionally on weekdays, providing color commentary during the high school baseball season, and definitely during the summer when I head out to Chautauqua Institution with radio legend, Jim Roselle!

I try to stay as active in the community as possible by participating in local theater. You may have seen me in some shows at Jamestown Community College! When not on the radio, I love reading books, especially mystery and thriller novels, and I'm an avid Buffalo sports fan. You'll find me watching, and often yelling, at the Sabres, Bills, Bisons, and Bandits, but loving every minute of it. Believe it or not, a career in radio is not what I plan on doing with the rest of my life. I'm actually a certified New York State high school English teacher, and I'm an active substitute teacher in many local school districts. I've always had a passion for radio, though, and I love being able to participate in both jobs paths. Thanks so much for listening!

The Chris Sprague Show (Weekday's from 3-7pm)

Chris grew up in Hinsdale, New York, and graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a Bachelors Degree in Communications & Media.

He landed his first "air chair" at WMXO/WMNS in Olean, NY. After two years, Chris moved to WGGO/WQRT in Salamanca, where he served as News Director. Chris continued his travel West, and landed at Vox Allegheny Radio in 1999 where he was the afternoon personality on WHUG, and served as production director. After serving as Operations Manager with WWCB in Corry, PA, Chris landed himself at Media One Group in the summer of 2005.

When Chris is not at work, he is working out at the gym, and spends time with family and friends.

The Lia Show (Monday-Saturday from 7pm-Midnight)

Way back in the late 60's, in a small little Kentucky town, I came screaming into this world. My mom, a Southern Belle housewife, and my dad, a farmer, bar owner, janitor, banjo picker, had finally had enough kids. I was the last of four and, believe me, I think I was the reason they didn't want anymore!

I grew up in an even smaller town in Kentucky, with not much to do there but plug my ears while my dad tried to pick his banjo and run through the sprinklers on a hot summer's day.

I was Daddy's Little Girl. Even though I hated that banjo, I loved my dad. The hardest thing I ever went through in my life was the death of my dad. That was 1983, when I was only fifteen. Too much for a young girl to take!

I left Kentucky, my family, my friends and my life behind and moved hundreds of miles cross-country to be with my oldest sister, Connie (my role model, best friend and confidante), and her husband. I finished school and, purely by accident, I got into Country radio.

As far as this show goes, I just want you to know that we all work very hard each night to put this thing together. I'm so lucky to have such a great couple of guys to work with.

Rise Up Country (Sunday's from 7-9am)

Let your spirit rise up with music and stories of inspiration from the greatest names in country music. RISE UP is a positive country music program that’s changing lives! When it comes to singing about cheating hearts and boozy nights, country music stars have a corner on the market. But that’s just one part of the picture. In the mid-90s, John Ritter got a hankering to showcase “positive country,” which was starting to make waves in Nashville, Tennessee. In other words, a show that would air Garth Brooks’ Unanswered Prayers but not his Longneck Bottle. In June 1995, the RISE UP program debuted to showcase “positive country”. Rise Up is now syndicated in dozens of markets and in over 70% of the states around the country. Every month, new stations come on board. We haven’t found any station that isn’t taken with the show. It puts country music in a whole new light.
