Breast Cancer Benefit for Kim Mann

The friends and family of Kim Mann will host a Breast Cancer Benefit on Saturday, September 20th at the Fluvanna Fire Hall.  the event will run from Noon until 6pm with a Chicken BBQ and free hot dogs for children 6 and under.  Kim was diagnosed with stage 2 Breast Caner and this benefit will help cover her on-going medical expenses that are not covered by medical insurance.  Kim has been employed by St. Luke's Church in Jamestown as the Administrator secretary for 30 years and her entire family prays for her and continues to supports her in any manner they can.  Be join us for music, fabulous raffle items and Chinese auction and a basket goods auction.   10% of all donations will also go towards the American Cancer Society. Step Up For Autism!!

Step Up for Autism, helping raise funds and awareness for those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Saturday, September 27th.  Step Up for Autism is a 1.5 mile fun walk in Celoron, NY. Benefit for Alda Brown

On September 13, 2014 a benefit will be held at the Frewsburg Blue Building from 1pm to 9pm with the intention of raising funds for Alda Brown.  Alda was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on February 27, 2014 and has since been receiving treatment.  As of this time she has received six chemotherapy treatments as well as having had a lumpectomy on June 30, 2014.  Alda is scheduled to have a bilateral mastectomy on August 15, 2014, after which she will have to endure twenty-five to thirty-five days of radiation therapy taking place five days per week.   As the primary breadwinner for her family Alda has courageously continued to work while fighting Cancer but is in need of help to deal with the plethora of medical bills flowing in for her treatment.  The intention of our benefit is to help raise funds in order to help the Brown family pay for the medical bills from Alda’s fight with Cancer.  The benefit will include dinner, entertainment and musical acts, a live auction and a Chinese auction. Pamela Herdeman Farm and Craft Market Fundraiser

On Saturday, August 23, Cross Roads Farm & Craft Market will host a benefit for Pamela Herdeman, who has Triple Negative Breast Cancer. The single mother has been a hairdresser in a local nursing home, and as such has touched the lives of many with her helping hands. Now she needs help to continue her fight as she pays for her mounting medical bills and wages war on the disease that threatens her. In addition to a chicken barbecue to raise funds, one of the artists from Art Stop on the Hilltop will auction off an original painting to help Team Pink for Pam. In addition, members of the Red Cross will be at Cross Roads Farm & Craft Market drawing blood that day from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. People are eligible to donate blood every 56 days. Donors should be in general good health and feeling well, must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds.  Cross Roads Farm & Craft Market, located at 6017 Westfield-Sherman Road (County Route 21), Westfield NY, is open 9-5 on Saturdays from the first Saturday in May until the last Saturday before Christmas. www.TheCrossRoadsMarket.com

Salvation Army Music Program Fundaiser Effort

The Salvation Army is looking for some financial help.  Your business or your service organization might be able to contribute.  The Salvation Army oversees a small, free weekly music program with instrumental instruction, band, chorus and dance.  Over 95% of the children and youth who attend their current music programs come from underprivileged homes.  The Salvation Army currently lacks the resources to grow this program.  If you can help with any donation 100% will go to develop this program.

Veteran's Memorial Park Relocation Fundraiser

The Veteran’s Memorial Park being built off Logan Avenue and West Third Street in Jamestown is very close to completion, however they need to close the gap of $20,000.  The committee hopes to have this project completed by Veteran’s Day and are asking for the community’s help by making a Tax deductible donation on behalf of all veteran’s.  Please send checks to Veteran’s Memorial Commission Relocation Fund c/o Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, 418 Spring Street, Jamestown.  Proudly suppoted by Media One Group
