City police looking for would-be female bandit in connection with attempted robbery at East Second St. store...

Jamestown police are asking for the public's help in finding a woman who tried to rob the U.S. News Store on East Second Street yesterday morning.  City officers were called to the scene at 1377 East Second about 9:15 a.m., and, learned the unidentified white female entered the store... and, handed an employee behind the counter a note demanding money from the register.  However... the employee tried to engage the alarm... and, was shoved away from the counter by the female bandit.  The suspect then fled the scene -- without any money -- in a westerly direction from the plaza.  The woman is described as being in her late 20s to early 30s... and, was about 5'5" to 5'7" inches tall, and weighing about 120 pounds.  The suspect was also allegedly wearing a brown Carhart-style jacket with a brown winter hat and green scarf.  Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call city police at 483-7531... or the confidential tip-line at 483-8477.
